The Flame by Batsheba is an absolutely stunning pendant light that spreads delicate stripes of light on the surrounding wall, creating an intimate atmosphere. The story behind this amazing shape is trully unique!

Description:
At the origin of Flame.MGX lies a sculpture made from a blob of clay, which was cut into a cube.  Four corners were twisted clockwise, while the four other corners were twisted counter clockwise.  The lampshade that originated from this sculpture is based on translucency and the interior volume is opened up entirely towards light and perception.

The Flame.MGX lamp series was designed by Bathsheba Grossman for Materialise.MGX  The truly unique aspect of every Materialise.MGX  lamp is that it was created through the use of rapid prototyping (RP) technology. This 3-d material printing process allows for an unlimited freedom of design far beyond the capacity of traditional manufacturing processes. This is revolutionizing the manufacturing process and is trully unique!

Each Materialise.MGX product is named with the .mgx extension which is the file extension for Materialise's proprietary software.  Each product produced by Materialise.MGX is rendered from a unique .mgx file which accompanies your product on a cd rom. You can reproduce your product by sending the .mgx file to Materialise.MGX
